Family Resources for Sharing God's Word
One of the sad consequences of the coronavirus outbreak is the separation many of us feel from our parish communities. But families can still stay connected to God and his Church during the COVID-19 crisis, and they can form their children in the faith as well. It begins with seeing the family through the eyes of our faith.
We encourage you to use this as a time of opportunity and a time of witness, to show the children that our faith is life-giving in times of crisis and that it is not bound between the walls in our churches, but is to be lived every day and everywhere.
The following resources can help your family to be a true domestic church.
Holy Heroes Sunday Mass Prep
Liturgy of the Word guide, video dramatization of the Gospel featuring children, coloring sheet – downloaded weekly on Tuesday Flannelboard or finger puppet print-outs

Loyola Press Sunday Connection
God speaks to us in many ways, including through the Sunday Scripture readings. Sunday Connection provides useful background and activities to better understand the upcoming Sunday's Scripture readings, helping you to connect the Scripture to daily life in a meaningful way.
Sunday Connection offers ways to break open the Word with children of different ages: Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-8, and also offers ideas to help your family understand and live the Gospel.

St. Mary’s Press Kids’ Liturgy
St. Mary’s Press is offering free access to Kids’ Liturgy, its Children's Liturgy of the Word program.
Parents can log in using any internet-connected device (phone, tablet, computer) and engage children in music, a gospel reading, an active and engaging reflection, and prayer.
By presenting the Word in a format and language that children can understand, we can continue strengthen their faith and enliven the whole church community—even as we are apart. This way, children will have an authentic prayer experience that allows them to actively engage in the liturgy, while being rooted in Catholic liturgical principles and practices.
